On the road to my house, we have a sign that says, “Call before you burn.” It’s about the local fire bans in the summer. A single ember can burn down the forest. In the summer we have fires in the backyard, with a bucket full of water. If you don’t pay attention to what part of year it is, you might get eaten by mosquitoes. They don’t take the sign down in the winter, they just leave it up all year. Call before you burn, people. Take it from the roadside sermon.
